I’m guessing you’re just like me and you often find yourself thinking β€œI’ll get to that when the timing is better.”

Maybe it’s a trip you’ve been wanting to take or a gym class you’ve been meaning to sign up for for 6 months, or even just getting together with an old friend.

Meanwhile, the years are literally flying by.

So here’s the thing. I know we’re all crazy busy. I know that sometimes it feels like our whole lives are spent just trying to get through the to-do lists every day.

But this is it! All these days that melt into each other and disappear behind you are your life.

If you keep waiting for β€œthings to calm down” or β€œthe kids’ schedules to ease up” or β€œthe busy time at work to pass,” you’ll realize one day that you've been waiting your whole life.

So here’s what I want you to take into next week.

What’s one thing regarding your health, fitness, or diet, that you’ve been meaning to do for a long time?

  • Be a regular at that gym class?
  • Do weekly hikes with your partner?
  • Use a standing desk?
  • Try tracking your food for a week?

Breaking the seal, overcoming the inertia, and doing the first small thing is always the hardest part. Once you do the first thing, no matter how small (sign up for the class, put β€œhike” on the calendar, buy the standing desk, download the tracking app), momentum already starts to gather and the rest flows.

The women who are out there feeling strong, full of energy and confidence, and in control of their health did not wait for the perfect time – they did the damn thing right in the middle of their crazy, hectic, messy lives. And you can too!
