I want to share something that may hit really close to home with you.
When I hear women say “I know my health is important, I’m just so busy right now… I’ll get started once things calm down…”
I feel sad for them because they don’t understand something critical.
The intention is real. Yes, they do plan to start once things calm down. The problem is… things don’t calm down. If you're being totally honest with yourself, you know that you’re going to be just as busy far into the foreseeable future.
Many women believe that when they put off getting into a healthy routine, they’re just putting their health “on hold.” They think they're just sort of pausing things for a while until they have time to hit start and begin making progress.
If this is you, please listen. This is faulty thinking. It’s not a passive phase in which your body “waits” for you. All the time that you're not engaging in a healthy routine, you're doing something active. You're actively moving away from health.
Your body is dynamic. It’s changing all the time. You get to decide if it changes for the good or bad. Waiting for the right time is an active choice that moves your body in the wrong direction every day.
When a woman is diagnosed with pre-diabetes or heart disease or even some cancers, it’s not from one thing that went wrong. It’s the culmination of years or in many cases decades of neglecting her health. Saying “I’ll do it later, when I have more time.” Deciding that this isn’t the season to get started but maybe next season will be. Over and over and over.
The good news is that this doesn’t have to be your future.
You have all the control to turn things around. You can be in the other camp of women – the women who say “I’m busy but this is important,” “I have other responsibilities but my health matters at least as much,” “I’m going to do something about this while I still can.”
And I’ll tell you that once you have a great plan made for you that suits your busy life, and you understand and trust it, and you're supported in executing it… you’ll be shocked at how little time you really need to make progress. It all becomes simple and even enjoyable.
You stop negotiating with yourself every day. You stop second-guessing whether you’re doing the right things. And you finally start to see your effort translate into real, measurable results.
Stop waiting. Start building the body, health, and life that you deserve.
